My name is Becky Haselden. I am the oldest of three children in a family who value education. I spent my formative years in the Florence Three school system: I attended Scranton Elementary, Lake City Junior High and Lake City High School. I attend college locally at Francis Marion University. I graduated in December 1994 from Francis Marion University with a degree in Elementary Education. I later took additional classes through FMU to acquire certification in special education and courses through the College of Charleston to earn an endorsement in Gifted Education. In 2006 I graduated from Lesley University with a masters degree in Curriculum Instruction through the Arts. I have experience working in general education as well as with children with exceptional needs. I began my teaching career in Florence School District Three at Ronald E. McNair Junior High School in 1995. I taught the Trainable Mentally Disabled class there for four years. In 1999, I transferred to Main Street Elementary. I continued to teach a younger Trainable class for three years. In 2002, I went to Lake City Elementary. I taught in the Educable Mentally Disabled class for two years, followed by two years as a resource teacher as well as the Talented and Gifted teacher. In 2006 I transferred back to Main Street Elementary. I spent one year teaching Gifted Education and an accelerated Reading class. During that year, I also taught 4th grade mathematics. My final two years at MSE were spent teaching second grade. During the 2009-2010 school year, I accepted a position at Scranton Elementary School teaching students with severe disabilities. After three years, I decided to return to the general education classroom. Since returning to the general education setting, I have taught a self-contained second grade class as well as fourth grade mathematics. I am currently teaching second grade mathematics.
